How it all started…
Founder Katherine Marion loves teaching Pilates, loves just about every style of group fitness, and loves traveling the world. She always wanted to start her own Pilates company, but was fully aware that so many people don’t understand what Pilates is, and how it can change your body, mind, and life. She found it nearly impossible to find a retreat where the focus was Pilates reformer or other Pilates equipment, so she decided why not start her own.
No better way to enjoy Pilates, fitness, and wellness than doing so in a beautiful setting where you can relax, bring friends and family who might not want to participate in the Pilates and fitness, but who you’d like to vacation with, and make new friends from all over the world!
What does a Core Values Retreat entail?
Typically 5 days, 5 nights
Full use of the hotel/resort/accommodations (including pools, tennis courts, etc.)
8+ hours of Pilates (mostly small group reformer classes)
4+ hours of other fitness and wellness activities
Indoor and outdoor spaces for all Pilates, fitness and wellness activities
Some may offer additional private and duet Pilates sessions or private personal training sessions (for an additional cost)
All meals from dinner on the day of checkin through breakfast on the day of checkout
1 Dinner at a local high-end restaurant
Transportation via Lyft to/from local airport(s)
Transportation to/from any local activities
Luxury goodie bags curated with wellness in mind, including locally sourced items
Discounts at the Hotel/Resort/Accommodation’s Spa (where applicable)
Wine tastings by local vineyards (Tucson- Old Pueblo Cellars)
FAQs
What is NOT included with the cost?
The only items NOT included are flights, travel insurance, and alcohol. The only exception with alcohol is that one night will include a dinner outside of the resort accommodations at a local restaurant/venue where alcohol will be included, and some retreats will have wine tastings or other events where alcohol is included.
Can I bring a friend/family member who doesn’t want to participate in the Pilates and other fitness/wellness activities?
Definitely! You can book a “Non Pilates/Fitness Participant-Double Occupancy” ticket. They will pay for everything except for the Pilates, fitness and wellness activities.
What if I would like to stay more than the allotted nights for the retreat?
You are welcome to do so! Once you have purchased your ticket, please email kat@corevaluesretreats.com who will be happy to coordinate with the retreat accommodations team on your behalf. Any nights outside of the retreat would be paid for by you separately directly with the hotel/resort/accommodation.
What if I have never done Pilates?
We love beginners! All levels are welcome, and we will coordinate groups pending your level of Pilates training and general fitness. Don’t worry, if you regularly workout, but simply haven’t tried Pilates, we’ll be sure to set you up with a group that will be challenging, but as close to your level as possible.
What if I have injuries?
That is no problem at all! We will do our best to accommodate your injuries during the classes, but please note that these will mostly be group classes, so we have to be sure to accommodate everyone. Some retreats might offer additional private Pilates or personal training sessions, where it will be all about you!
Will you accommodate food allergies?
Of course! You’ll receive a survey after you book your retreat asking about food allergies. We will certainly accommodate you to the best of our abilities. Most accommodations will have a variety of food offerings, so we will try our best to have options that suit your needs.
